Weatherman predicts light, moderate rains in Valley

Srinagar, : As the dry spell across the Valley continued, the weatherman on Monday predicted light rains on Apr 10 and 11 this month, saying that they are predicting moderate rainfall at isolated places on these days.
Director Meteorological department (MeT), Sonum Lotus said that there is possibility of light and moderate rainfall in plains and isolated places on in between April 10 and 11.
Pertinent to mention here, from August 2017 to January 2018, Kashmir suffered an unprecedented drought, but some farmers were not affected by it.
According to Sonum Lotus, the regional meteorological director, Kashmir witnessed “a record-breaking long dry spell” since August last year. “We have never witnessed such drought conditions,” Lotus said, adding that the extremely low precipitation recorded during the period caused a lot of problems for the people as functioning of dozens of water supply schemes was badly affected.(KNB)
