Adamant governor refused to delay science conference

University authorities and three state ministers had planned to postpone thirteenth J&K science congress on Monday. Reports said that state governor N.N Vohra decided to go ahead with the event in university of Kashmir despite massive protests by students. While university authorities said that they held the event on time as scholars and scientists were already in Kashmir for this event.
Reports said that educational minister Altaf Bukhari had requested for postponement of the event as valley was reeling under protest and anger. Reports said that in protest minister of education Altaf Bukhari and minister for social welfare Sajjad alone along with minister of IT Imran Raza Ansari did not take part in the event.
It is in place to mention that police had a tough time near the venue of thirteenth science congress as the students were raising pro freedom slogans and finally the event passed off.
