JK Police to launch app for women

Jammu February 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police will launch an app for women in need of help for their safety and to check crime against them. This was informed by Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid when, a team of ANNA-India (a society to empower) called on him on the occasion of World NGO Day at Police Headquarters here today.

The team comprising of Pragya Salhotra, Parteeksha Sharma, Shuiata Saproo Vridhi Kapoor, Palvi Kumari, Arpita Kumari, Anchal Chibber and Disha Bhagat sought help from the DGP for launching an App exclusively dedicated for providing help to women.. They also discussed with the DGP issues related to safety of women.

DGP assured the team that all possible measures will be taken and assistance will be provided for the safety and security of women. He said that six women police stations are working in the state to deal with the crime against women and Hon’ble Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti has been kind enough to sanction four more women police stations for Pulwama, Kupwara, Kathua and Doda so that the crime against women is dealt more effectively.

DGP also assured that J&K Police will provide all help to the NGOs working for the betterment of women in the state.

On this occasion, IGP, CIV PHQ, Sh. Ashkoor Ahmad Wani, AIG (Communication), Sh. Manoj Kumar Pandit were also present.
