Is Rambagh flyover safe?
Srinagar: On Wednesday when earthquake jolted Kashmir a girder fell from Rambagh flyover on the machine. People claimed that the flyover is so shaky that the girder fell by the earthquake. However, Satish Razdan of ERA was quoted by local media saying that the girder was being lifted by a crane to be placed upon the pillars and due to earthquake the girder fell on the crane. He described the claims of eyewitnesses as rumours and said that however, they are looking into the matter and the details would be shared with the people and media. The reports of girder falling from the pillars of Rambagh flyover have gone viral and people are saying that the government should come clean on this matter and tell people how safe is the flyover and has the ERA and other agencies have done any audit of the material being used by the constructing company.
