KATHUA – Senior National Conference leaders Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra and Th Kashmira Singh on Tuesday called for inculcating the spirit of discipline and camaraderie among students, observing this is pivotal for channelising their energies towards nation building.

“Youth have to play a central role in building a strong nation, as envisioned by towering leaders like Netaji Subash Chander Bose, whose contribution during the freedom struggle will always inspire generations”, former minister Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra said while addressing Annual Day Function of Subash Chander Bose Netaji Educational Academy Basholi, owned Mr Dharshan Sharma, a prominent social worker of the area.

Mr Sadhotra, who was the chief guest, urged the student to inculcate spirit of patriotism and work for strengthening the bonds of amity and harmony, for which the visionary leaders strove all their lives. He dwelt upon the life and contribution of Netaji and said that this is because of the sacrifices of national heroes like him India attained freedom. “We have to preserve this by promoting the spirit of inclusiveness”, he maintained.

Speaking on the occasion, the former MLC Th Kashmira Singh, who was the guest of honour, paid tributes to Netaji and exhorted the students to emulate the spirit of patriotism from his distinguished life. He said generations will be inspired from the chequred life of the Netaji, whose struggle for freedom of the nation will always be remembered.

Th Kashmira Singh elaborately dwelt upon various facets of Netaji’s life and said it is befitting to have an institution like this in the name of great visionary.

Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra and Th Kashmira Singh hoped the youth of Jammu and Kashmir will play their important role in bringing about complete harmony in the society.

On the occasion, Mr Sadhotra gave away prizes and awards to students for their distinction in various fields and appreciated the performance of students in the cultural programme, which enthralled the audience.

Mr Sadhotra and Th Kashmira Singh complimented the Chairman of the prestigious Educational Institution for imparting quality education to the student of the remote area and thus doing great service in the rural area.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mr Prem Sagar Aziz Former Minister, Mr Amrish Sharma, Mr Raja Rafeeq, Mr Ragubir Singh,  Mr Davinder Kapoor, Mr Gopal Anand and various other prominent persons of the area.

Later, the National Conference leaders, accompanied by a team of the Youth National Conference workers, visited Mr Davinder Verma prominent youth leader of National Conference.
