The controversy over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat refuses to die down. The Rajput Karni Sena has threatened that it will not allow Censor board chief Prasoon Joshi from participating from the Jaipur Literature Festival, which begins on January 25.
Meanwhile,Raja Singh, a MLA from BJP in Hyderabad, said, “You can protest as you like… If you are nationalist don’t watch the movie. If once they suffer loss then they will never distort history & facts in future. Burn or vandalise theatres, its up to you, but don’t the watch movie.”
And despite the SC paving the way for the nationwide release of the movie on January 25, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is yet to take a decision on Padmaavat’s release. “The government had asked the advocate general to study Supreme Court’s decision on Padmaavat. After studying the verdict, the state government would put forth its stand in the apex court, if required. (Agencies)
