ADDC flags off 50 sheep breeders for training under ATMA

GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 10: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, N A Baba today flagged-off 50 sheep breeders of the district for a day-long training programme at sheep breeding farm Guhbal under Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme.

The programme organized by Sheep Husbandry Department under Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme is aimed to help the breeders to acquaint themselves with the latest technology and practices in the Sheep Husbandry sector. The farmers will be provided with sheep breeding and rearing training under advanced and scientific manners along with first aid medicine kits.

Speaking on the occasion, N A Baba stressed breeders to avail the benefits of modern technology used in sheep rearing and advised them to make full use of latest technology and rear genetically modified cross breeds to start sheep farming as a viable income generating option.

The District Sheep Officer Ganderbal, Dr. Abdul Majeed said that the daylong tour of progressive sheep breeders is aimed to aware them about latest scientific techniques, management and housing which will help them get  better results in the sheep farming.
