‘149 girls provided marriage assistance in 2017’DDC Budgam

BUDGAM, JANUARY 04: District Development Commissioner , Mohammad Harun Malik today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of various social welfare schemes in the district.

 During the meeting, DDC directed the concerned to conduct a door-to-door survey and create village level profile and ensure hassle-free sanctioning of the assistance to the beneficiaries.

He also directed concerned to ensure Aadhar seeding of the beneficiaries on war-footing and ensure expeditious clearance of pending cases.

The meeting was informed that the department has cleared 149 cases under State Marriage Assistance Scheme up to September during the current fiscal while as more 184 cases have been sanctioned who would get the assistance by March-2018.

Under Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) and National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) pension schemes, it was informed  that an assistance of Rs 14.03 crore and Rs 7.04 crore respectively have been provided to the beneficiaries under different components including old age, women in distress and physically challenged persons during the 2017-18 financial year.

During the meeting, officials informed that under 8 projects of Integrated Child Development Services scheme the Department was providing food, preschool education, and primary healthcare to children under 6 years of age and their mothers in the district.

It was informed that under the Ladli Beti scheme, 2238 cases have been cleared while as 2063 cases were under process to be cleared during the current fiscal.

Officials informed that 67480 beneficiaries registered under the AWCs project have been provided the assistance under children, nursing mothers and pregnant ladies components.

District Social Welfare Officer, Tariq Ahmad Reshi and other Tehsil level officers attended the meeting.
