Both the Fidayeen were local militants says police

Police said that the two slain Fidayeen militants for the first time in the recent past were locals and had only joined the militants ranks few months back. Describing it as a huge security challenge said that one was from Drubgham village of Pulwama and identified him as Manzoor Ahmad Baba. He said another was from restive Tral and identified him as Fardeen Ahmad Khanday who is son of a serving police constable Ghulam Ahmad Khanday.
Giving details police said that these two local militants attacked the camp at 2:30 am and while entering injured three CRPF jawans. Two of them have been admitted to army based hospital and are out of danger while one of them scum bed to his injuries. Police said that later in the day four CRPF personnel were killed and those who sustained bullet injuries include Tufail Ahamd of Rajori, Rajendra Nan of Rajasthan and Pardeep Panda. Inspector of CRPF identified as Kuldeep Roy resident of HP died of cardiac arrest during the gunfight.
State DGP SP Vaid earlier on Sunday in a press briefing told media that they were having inputs from the several days that militants were looking for some target for a Fidayeen attack. Blaming Pakistan for such unfortunate incident Vaid said that so long as militants are pushed into Kashmir from across the border people and forces have to see such unfortunate incidents.
