DDC Pulwama lays foundation of link road

PULWAMA, District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Ghulam Mohammad Dar today laid the foundation stone of the link road from Barzal to Railway Road in presence of Assistant Commissioner Pulwama Mir Munawar Ahmad and a large number local gathering.
The 1.5 km long road to be constructed by Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj under MGNRGA at an estimated cost of Rs 10 lac, will provide road connectivity to the people of Dogripora and other adjoining areas to Railway Station Panzgam.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the administration is committed to provide road connectivity to rural areas of the district, besides ensuring other facilities to the people. He said that extensive road connectivity will help in the economic growth of the village which is the basic requirement for the development. He said better road connectivity is correlated with economic development as it promotes access to economic and social services.

Later, the DDC inspected under- construction Bridge over River Jhelum at Dogripora. He stressed upon the executing agency for early completion of the Bridge so that the people of Dogripora and adjacent areas may not face more inconvenience.
The DDC also interacted with the people of the area and after listening to their demands assured to take necessary action for their redressal in a time-bound manner.
