Srinagar,

After announcing amnesty to more than 4500 first stone pelters and others, reportedly on the recommendation of Centre-appointed interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma, the government has now started releasing Separatists detained for the past about one year or so.

The Centre announced the amnesty to first-time stone pelters after Mr Sharma completed his first visit to Kashmir, where he met more than 50 delegations and individuals last month.
The process of withdrawing cases against the accused has already started in the Valley after their proper counselling by senior police officials.

They will not now face any problem in getting No Objection Certificate (NOC) from police for passport, employment and other related matters, senior police officers said.
However, they warned that if the youths will again indulge in stone pelting or any other anti-national activities, stern action will be taken against them.
