DDC Anantnag tours Qazigund, reviews implementation of CM’s directions

ANANTNAG,:  The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik today toured Qazigund area to take stock of the implementation status of CM directions which were passed in the public durbar on 11th of November this year.

During the tour, the DDC was accompanied by SDM Dooru, ACD, executive engineers of R&B, PHE, Tourism, Ground Water, UEED and RDD, concerned Tehsildars and BDOs, and other district officers.

While visiting TRC Harnag, the DDC was satisfied over the pace of work and directed the concerned to start the work on the second building. The work is being executed under PMDP at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore.

At Panzeth, the DDC directed the Executive Engineer Tourism to prepare a DPR for development of three spots at Eidgah, dam and source point along the swathe of spring and to start the work within 15 days.

As per the directions passed in the public darbar, the RDD was to desilt the Panzeth spring which has been implemented by the department. However, the DDC directed the ACD to formulate a work plan of desilting the rest stretch of the spring. He was also directed to repair the retaining walls beside, construction of ghats at Panzeth.

The DDC also visited Watihall to take stock on the execution work of borewell drilling. After completion, the borewell shall be catering Watihall and Saliyalu villages.

Later, he also visited Manzmoh where tourism infrastructure shall be developed. The DDC was informed that feasibility report has been finalized. It was further revealed that trackways shall be developed to Churpal, Maldar, Masnard and Kund which will boast tourism in the area. In addition, the Tourism department will be investing in skill development, Interpretation Centre and physical accommodation.

The DDC also inspected the road of 1.75 km connecting Manzmoh with Dangiwari, which has been constructed by the RDD at an estimated cost of Rs 7 lakh. The DDC directed the concerned BDO to upgrade the road connectivity for which necessary funding shall be made.

Meanwhile, the DDC also interacted with the locals who demanded augmentation of power-supply and drinking water facilities. The DDC directed the concerned officers to sort out these issues at an earliest. Besides, he directed the Exen PDD to provide a sub-station to a habitation of Manzmoh.

In addition, the DDC took stock of other facilities like winter tuition, ration supply, dumping position of food grains, healthcare and others.
