KARACHI: The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has on Thursday objected to the hosting of Asia Emerging Nations Cup (AENC) by Pakistan.

According to details, Pakistan had been awarded the hosting rights of the 6-nation AENC in a meeting of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on October 29. However, BCCI has raised the objection on the grounds now that it wasn’t present in the meeting and it should have been consulted ahead of the decision.

Sources claim that BCCI has communicated its disagreement over the hosting of the tournament in Pakistan since Indian cricket team is also a participant in the tournament and the BCCI could not send any Indian team to Pakistan currently and that the ‘matter should be considered’.

It is claimed that ACC is still reluctant to move the tournament from Pakistan but it is also pertinent to mention here that earlier ACC had moved the U-19 Asia Cup to Malaysia from India when Pakistan had refused to send the team to India for the tournament citing similar reasons.(Agencies)
