Life disrupted in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir

Authorities have deployed additional paramilitary and police force in full roit gear in summer capital of Srinagar and other sensitive areas of Kashmir valley to prevent protests and violence on Wednesday as separatists have jointly called for protests and shutdown against civilians by government forces during anti militancy operations here.

Police on Wednesday morning has sealed by concertina wire all the important roads of downtown Srinagar and some parts of uptown to prevent separatists protest programmes today.while senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani continues to remain under house arrest at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar city police detained Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nageen residence on Wednesday.

Impact on life in Kashmir valley was visible on Wednesday morning as railway authorities have suspended rail service in entire Kashmir valley and transport was plying very less due to hartal and curfew in Srinagar city. Authorities imposed partial restrictions in two police stations of kralkhud and Maisuma, paralysing life here in main city centre.
