AN-32 Courier service for Kargil to start in first week of Jan: Haji Anayat Ali

JAMMU :  Chairman, Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today convened a meeting with Civil Administration, Police and Aviation authorities to review the status of initiating AN-32 Courier Service operations for Kargil during current winter season.

The meeting was attended by MLA Zanskar, Syed Mohammad Baqir Rizvi, MLA Kargil, Asgar Ali Karbalai, Chief Executive Councilor, Kacho Ahmed Khan, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, M K Bhandari, Director Airports, D K Gautam, Commissioner Civil Aviation, Sunil Kannath, Director Disaster Management, Aamir Ali, SSP Udhampur, Rayees Ahmed Bhat and other senior officers.

During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on the matter in which legislators and other concerned senior officers put their valuable suggestions for smooth operation of AN-32 Courier Service for Kargil.

On the occasion, the Aviation/Air Force authorities informed that service will be started in the first week of January 2018. They also informed the Chairman of the necessary steps being taken up by them in this regard.

The Chairman directed the concerned departments to maintain close coordination for smooth operation of the service during this winter season. He directed for all necessary steps to be taken to provide better services than last year to the passengers so that people can travel smoothly during this winter season.

The Chairman also passed directions to the higher authorities to provide basic facilities during stay of passengers at Srinagar and Jammu Airports.

It was also decided in the meeting that in case of cancellation of any sortie due to bad weather, other reasons, necessary announcements should be made earlier through mass media to avoid any inconvenience to passengers.
