DGP inaugurates CME & Live Surgical Workshop on Minimal Access Surgery at Police Hospital Jammu

JAMMU,  : The LAPCON-PHJ-17 CME and Live Surgical Workshop on Minimal Access Surgery was inaugurated by Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid at Police Hospital, Jammu, today.

          Speaking on the occasion the DGP complemented the Superintendent of the Police Hospital, Jammu and his team for fulfilling the commitment and the mission they had taken up following the directions that Police Hospital Jammu should also organise workshops and conferences for sharing the experience and the knowledge gained in the medicines and the surgery. Dr. Vaid also hailed Police Hospital Jammu for providing health services which according to him is a great welfare measure for the police families.

          Referring to the development of infrastructure of the Police Hospital, Jammu Dr. Vaid said that a plan to have a separate campus for police hospital has already been formulated and with the active support of the Government the Police Hospital, Jammu will have its own complex wherein all the developments and sections will be providing facilities under one roof in an integrated manner. He said that it’s an endeavour of the PHQ to provide auditorium to the Police Hospitals in Jammu and Srinagar so that the doctors and paramedic staff can share and discuss the advancements made in the fields of the medical science and surgery on day-to-day basis.

          Referring to the development of the Police Hospital, Jammu, he said that over the years Police Hospital, Jammu has come up as a very good institution but in this age of telemedicine we will have to work more to make it one of the premier hospitals of the Jammu.

          In his address Special DGP, PHQ Shri V.K Singh complemented the Police Hospital, Jammu for organizing the workshop and promised that all possible support will continue from the PHQ for the hospital and its endeavours. The Police Hospital, Jammu contributed a lot by providing health facilities to the police personnel.

          In his welcome address Dr. K.B Sharma, Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital, Jammu (Organising Chairman) welcomed the Chief Guest and other esteemed guests. He also thanked the Director General of Police for over all support and assured him that such academic and research exercises will continue in future as well. Highlighting the achievements of this institute he said that during 2017, 58716 patients were treated, 56872 different tests were conducted and 610 major/minor surgeries were conducted.

          Dr. Ajay Misri, (Organising Secretary) Police Hospital, Jammu presented vote of thanks and thanked all the guests especially Dr. R.K Chrangoo for attending the conference and sharing their valuable experiences.

          The inaugural session was attended by ADGP Armed, Shri A.K Choudhary, IGP CID, Shri A.G. Mir, IGP Crime, Shri Alok Puri, IGP Jammu Zone, Shri S.D Singh Jamwal, IGP (Hqrs.) PHQ, Shri Surinder Kumar Gupta, DIG JSK Range, Shri Rafiq-ul-Hassan, DIG Armed, Jammu, Shri Vijay Kumar, SSP Jammu, Shri Vivek Gupta, AIG (Pers.), Mubassir Latifi, AIG (Building), Shri Abdul Waheed, AIG (CIV), Shri Kulbir Singh, SP (Hqrs.), Shri R.C. Kotwal, senior police officers and a galaxy of doctors and senior and junior paramedics.

          On this occasion Dr. (Prof.) Sheetal Singh was honoured by Life Time Achievement Award by the Chief Guest for his outstanding contribution and Dr. Kiran Sharma was honoured for record number of blood donations.
