Life crippled in Kashmir by bandh call and restrictions

Kashmir continues to witness bandh calls by JRL and the response of the government by curfew and restrictions to such calls, paralysing life here.  On Monday morning locals from downtown said that police and CRPF were preventing people to move with their vehicles in the restricted areas.

Authorities have deployed additional paramilitary and police force in full roit gear in summer capital of Srinagar and other sensitive areas of Kashmir valley to prevent protests and violence on Monday. Life is paralysed as police has imposed curfew and restrictions in most areas of downtown Srinagar on Monday as joint Resistance Leadership has given bandh call against plight of detainees and harassment to general public by anti militancy operations during sub zero temperatures of winter in Kashmir valley.

Earlier authorities also decided to suspend rail service from Banihal to Baramullah on Monday as a precautionry measure to avoid protests and violence.

Reports said that police arrested jklf chief Yasin Malik from his Mouisama residence on Monday. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained at his Nageen residence and Syed Ali Geelani continues to remain under house arrest at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar.
