Power cuts give tough time to Tral residents

Tral: Residents across the Tral sub-district are complaining of unscheduled power cuts, which they said have increased considerably over the past few weeks.
Apart from Tral township, complaints of heavy unscheduled power cuts poured in from Pinglish  Rathsona,Saimoh  Nahir, Khasipora, , Kangloora, Chatrogam, Diver, Monghama, Batagund, Nagbal, Mandoora, Panner, Saimoh, Rathsuna, Amirabad, Gamraj, and Dobhiwan.The power cuts also giving tough time to people especially to students appearing in different examinations.
Residents said that the Power Development Department was not sticking to a proper curtailment schedule, and despite requests to officials the situation has not improved.
“PDD does not follow any power curtailment schedule. They resort to power cuts as per their whims,” a group of residents from Shaldraman said.
“Despite paying electricity bills on time every month, PDD has failed to ensure adequate power supply,”shabir Ahmad, another resident said.
Assistant Executive Engineer PDD, Tral, Mohammad Maqbool Ahanger, told vov  that power cuts were caused by “heavy load”, “which is being checked now”.
“We will start massive drive against the illegal heaters and boilers soon to ensure better power supply in the sub division” Ahanger said.
