The dormant role of ICRC in kashmir has been matter of discussion in media and human rights circles here.

Recently jk high court bar assiciation has said in its statement after visiting Kotbalwal jail in Jammu that the undertrail prisoners were subjected to physical torture and were being kept in small cells in solitory confinement. such statements from bar associations and concerns being shown by parents of arrested youth have brought fresh focus on the working of ICRC in kashmir.
