Sikhs demand pickets back in south kashmir villages

The authorities recently after some gun snatching incidents decided to withdraw security pickets from vulnerable villages of South kashmir. These police pickets were erected in Sikh and pandit villages of South kashmir in early ninetees to protect them from attacks.

Different police wings gave a feedback to the government that policemen in these pickets can become targets of militants and thier arms can be snatched.Acting on the feedback government decided to abondon these villages and withdrew thier security.

Some Sikh villages in south kashmir started feeling vulnerable and they demanded the security pickets back.government has restored security pickets back in some Sikh villages but many of them are still without police pickets.

Sikhs in these south kashmir villages are feeling insecure and fear that they can become victims of violence from any vested quarter.
