Reiterating his demand to conduct a credible probe into attack on Amarnath Yatris, incumbent Langate lawmaker, Er Rasheed has apprehended that security agencies in coming days may claim to have identified or eliminated the attackers by making someone a scapegoat.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Rasheed said that Kashmiris need not to be apologetic as they are neither involved in the incident nor can they stop such brutal tragedies.

He said, “Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah and others have been constantly claiming that their heads lie in shame over the incident but may they answer what is the fault of Kashmiris so that they need to have their heads in shame. Such apologetic and appeasing statements give an impression as if every Kashmiris is holding a gun in his hands and has no business but to kill Yatris. Let world understand that it is not only seven yatris who lost their lives in Kashmir but more than one Lac Kashmiris have been buried in graveyards and nobody cares for them.”

The firebrand lawmaker said it is duty and right of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to condemn the killings of Yatris through tweet but why doesn’t he speak even a single world when “innocent” Kashmiris are “butchered” on daily basis.

“Kashmiris have a right to ask Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti that while they are rightly finding no logic in killing Yatris, why they have always been finding an excuse when Kashmiris get butchered. Mehbooba Mufti has done a good thing by spending whole night with the injured Yatris but she must answer as to why she blames innocent Kashmiris when they get killed.”

Rasheed added that Kashmiris are not against providing six lac rupees compensation to families of Yatris but why not a penny has been paid to more than hundred innocents killed during last one year and why don’t their families deserve same sympathy.

The Langate lawmaker said that government must come clean on what was the reason behind Yatris being forced to hoist tricolour at Pahalgam, as it seems just an act of provocation.

Accusing that forces have been given license to kill Kashmiris Rasheed added that the recent encounter at Beerwah in which three youth were killed is ample proof to conclude that security forces leave no chance to kill Kashmiris.

He said, “If Government claims the three militants had just a pistol and an SLR rifle with them and there was no collateral damage, forces could have trapped all the three alive, rather celebrating ‘their brutal murder.”

“Let nobody forget that like Zubair Turray and Bashir Lashkar, Sajad Ahmad Gilkar of Nowhatta had also joined militancy as a result of police atrocities.”

He also demanded probe into the Yatra attack and cautioned government not to make attack on Yatris another mystery like that of Chattisinghpora.
