End of militancy final solution to Kashmir: Jitendra Singh

Union Minister Jitendra Singh Wednesday said the final solution to Kashmir issue was wiping out militancy from the State.

Addressing a news conference here, Minister of State (MoS) Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region, Singh said the protracted phase of militancy would soon meet its end.

The MoS PMO was referring to the May 28 and June 3 remarks of the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at New Delhi was working toward a permanent solution to the seven-decade Kashmir issue but there without a compromise on the territorial integrity of India.

Singh, the senior leader of the rightwing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said the Parliament had already made it clear that Jammu Kashmir is an integral part of India and that the government would work toward the vacating Pakistan administered Kashmir, the area of the State held by Pakistan.
