Chopper carrying MoS Rijiju makes emergency landing

The minister of state for home affairs, Kiren Rijiju, had a close shave on Tuesday afternoon when the BSF chopper he was travelling in had to make an emergency landing in a small field in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, due to bad weather.
TV reports said the helicopter was caught in heavy rain and fog, which made navigation difficult due to the low visibility. The pilots managed to keep the chopper steady and manoeuvre it around for 10 minutes amid the rain, before finding a small strip for a safe landing. (Agencies)
