Srinagar on high alert as authorities fear attack
Srinagar city has been on high alert as authorities have received intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in downtown area of the city.
Local newspapers have qouted senior police officers saying that they have received intelligence inputs that five militants have entered the city after they have been provided with some blueprint for fidayyen or sneak attack in Srinagar.
These reports said that five militants of srinagar were back after their stay in south kashmir. Recent grenade attack at Safakadal and attack on cops at hyderpora has alerted the police and intelligence agencies about the possible big attack in Srinagar in the coming days.
These newspaper reports have even said that police has inputs that such militant attack could be carried out in Noorbagh, Iddgah or Nowhatta areas.
High alert has been sounded in entire srinagar city and the security has been beefed up around all important and sensitive installations to thwart any surprise attack.in the recent spell of militancy the srinagar city has remained almost untouched.
As police claims that five militants of srinagar city are back in their downtown hideouts the danger of possible sneak attack in the city has become more profound. Police and security forces have so far tried to keep srinagar incident free on militancy map but now the fresh worries about the presence of militants has added to fears that city may witness militant attacks in near future.
