Srinaagr: Union finance minister Arun Jaitley who is in Srinagar attending the GST council meet may depart back to New Delhi today afternoon, sources said on Thursday.
Jaitley, who was supposed to attend the two day meet and address the press on Friday, may fly back to New Delhi to attend the last rites of Union Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave.
Dave passed away in New Delhi on Thursday morning. He was 60.
Earlier, as soon as the meeting started, Jaitley informed the gathering about the demise of Dave. The meeting observed two minutes silence in remembrance of Dave.
The departure of Jaitley, who is the chairperson of the GST council meet, may disturb the agenda of the meeting, sources added.
