Srinagar: There were more clashes between the students and police in various parts of Pulwama town as the students refused to break their dharna outside police station as they were demanding the release of those students who were arrested during the earlier clashes.

In the Monday morning students from different educational institutions finally converged near the police station of Pulwama and did a sit-in outside it pressing for the release of students. Finally police fired tear-smoke shells to break this dharna and it resulted in scattered clashes throughout the town in the afternoon of Monday. However there were no immediate details about the injuries to the students.

Because of the violence on the streets, Pulwama town was giving a deserted look on Monday afternoon as most of the shopkeepers and business establishments were forced to go for a shutdown. The tear-smoke spread across the town giving the people tough time to face it.
