Revolving doors of jail for Masarat Alam

Srinagar: Getting bails and release orders from different Courts and getting re-arrested has become a routine for the jailed separatist leader Masarat Aalam Bhat, who was sent to Baramulla Court Wednesday to judicial remand till May 3, 2017.

He has booked under a fresh FIR No. 52/2017 registered in police station Baramulla after he was arrested within the jail on Monday after being released by the Court.

Masarat Aalam was heading the agitation of 2010 unrest and was finally arrested by J&K Police near Hazratbal on outskirts of Srinagar on a tip-off. It was on his arrest that then Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had reportedly told the police officer that why he did not kill Masarat and why he brought him alive to be jailed.
