Mehbooba Mia lock horns on nomad family attack
Srinagar: Prominent Gujjar leader Mia Altaf on Wednesday told Voice of Valley that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was directly responsible for the growing attacks on the nomad families in Jammu region at the hands of Hindu fascists. He said that first through her BJP forest minister, she displaced dozens of Gujjar families from many hilly areas of Jammu and their homes were bulldozed. He said that now the glaring criminal attack on a Muslim Gujjar family at the hands of her allies shows that she is patronizing such attacks. Mia Altaf said that Gujjar community will not tolerate such persecution at the hands of BJP and other Hindu fringe elements and warned the government to stop such attacks or face state wide Gujjar agitation.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti reacting to such statements said that she has directed police to take stern action against cow vigilantes who attacked the nomad family at Talwara, Reasi. Mehbooba in a statement said that she has directed the security agencies to ensure inter community harmony and amity among the all sections of the society in the Jammu region.
