Three media men injured in police action of Srinagar

Srinagar: The use of force by police and security forces caught media men also in their action and so far three photojournalists were injured while covering the clashes between the students and police at Maulana Azad Road of Srinagar on Monday.

The first to get injured was a young photographer identified as Basit Zargar who is working with a Web Paper. He was hospitalized as he was hit by a stone.  As the clashes continued two more photojournalists Habibullah Naqash and Danish Ismail were also injured during the action of police on the protesting students.  Reports said that both of them received minor injuries.

The common people have criticized the use of force by police on the students and said that they were also being chased away from one shopping mall to another by the police. The people including large number of women and children were seen throughout the day of Monday being chased away by police and most of them suffered because police used dozens of tear-smoke shells and pepper gas apparently over the students but the common people were also hit.
