Mehbooba could not extract the promise of talks with Hurriyat
Srinagar: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, but could not extract from him the promise of talks with separatists in order to restore normalcy here. Mehbooba during her meeting said that it will take few months for her government to restore order in Kashmir Valley before making the situation conducive for the talks.
The failure of Mehbooba Mufti to nudge the Centre to move forward on the agenda of alliance was reflected in the State when she said that Kashmir issue was 70 years old and could not be settled very soon. Mehbooba discussed the prevailing situation in the entire State with the Union Home Minister and told media that the situation will completely change in Kashmir.
She said that the summer months were very crucial for the government and appealed for everyone’s support to improve the situation and she was referring to media also. Mehbooba also met earlier National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and IB Chief and discussed the situation of Kashmir with them.
