Students protest, clash with forces in north Kashmir

Srinagar: Clashes between protesting students and government forces erupted in Pattan area on Thursday after many schools of the area hold a joint rally against alleged highhandedness of forces on Pulwama college students last week.
According tosources Government Higher Secondary School, Goshebugh Pattan and other private schools of the area hold a joint rally which was intercepted at Aglar.
sources said,that the students were raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. They were also raising slogans against the alleged highhandedness of forces on students at many places of Kashmir.
The heavy deployment of police and forces however fired many tear smoke shells to disperse the students who pelted stones on them.
Meanwhile, the students of Nadim Memorial Higher Secondary School Kaloosa in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district also held a protest demonstration.
The angry students blocked the Bandipora-Sopore road, hampering traffic movement.
Same kind of protests were held by girls students of Girls High School Ajas, sources said who blocked the Srinagar-Bandipora road.
Sources said that a woman was injured after protesting Students pelted stones on vehicles in Kaloosa area of Bandipora district.
They said that the injured woman was shifted to hospital.
Students of the valley are on edge ever since over 60 students were injured in force’s action at Pulwama Degree College after they objected to a force’s naka near the college.
Authorities have already closed all degree colleges of the valley after massive protests were held across the valley.
