Batamaloo shuts for 3rd consecutive day

Srinagar: Batamallo and its adjacent areas remained paralyzed for third running day on Monday in protest against killing of Sajjad Ahmad who was shot dead by BSF. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has already said civilian killings were unacceptable to her government and has asked police and paramilitary forces to exercise maximum restraint.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti who hold Home portfolio, J&K Police has filed an FIR and has charged BSF with murder of Sajjad Ahmad who was shot in head when some BSF vehicles were passing through the interior lanes of Batamallo area.

The shops remained shut and the life remained paralyzed in Batamaloo even on Monday with reports of some incidents of stone-pelting and protests in the area.
